Sorcerer's Isle

Welcome to Sorcerer's Isle, a weblog covering a multitude of topics, ranging from programming to 3D graphics; photography to gadgets; tutorials to tinkering.

Within Sorcerer's Isle are three sub-blogs, which each focus on different aspects:

At Sorcerer's Tower you'll find programming and web dev; Midnight Isle covers photography and digital art; and with 100% Geek you'll find gadgets, gaming, technology, and more.

Articles may appear on just one of the weblogs, or across multiple, but every article posted will always appear on this one.

Topics Covered

Speaking at cfDevCon 2008

The more observant visitors to this blog may have noticed the badge floating in the corner, indicating that I will be speaking at the cfDevCon developer conference later this year.

CFDevCon 2008 is a UK-based ColdFusion and web development conference, being held this September down in Brighton.

Whilst ColdFusion and CFML are the focus of the conference, the organisers are keen to also cover complementary web development subjects, and there is a good variety of topics on the schedule.

Scotch on the Rocks 2008 Announced

The next Scotch on the Rocks was confirmed today. It has been extended to a three day event from Wednesday 4th to Friday 6th of June 2008, and promises to be bigger and better than Scotch 2007 in every way.

If you are in any way interested in ColdFusion and surrounding technologies, you will want come to Scotch 2008. Of course, if you've been before you wont need convincing, but anyone who isn't sure should read Andy Allan's explanation of why you really should attend Scotch 2008 and if you're still uncertain then have a look at my brief write-up of Scotch 2007.

For more information keep an eye on the new website, at scotch-on-the-rocks.co.uk.

cfDevCon 2006

Okay, so I've arrived back from the UK's first* ColdFusion developers' conference (*if you ignore the previous two UK-based CF conferences), and decided I would give my thoughts about it.
